Kevin Checkett opened a general law practice in 1977. Since then, he has focused on commercial and bankruptcy litigation, and on estate and business planning. He routinely handles bankruptcy matters throughout the country.
The Kansas City Magazine and 417 Magazine of Springfield recently named Kevin as a top Missouri bankruptcy lawyer. This distinction is voted upon by other attorneys and awarded to those in the top 5 percent of their profession.
Charles "Chuck" Pauly practiced law in Dallas, Texas, for 15 years before coming to Carthage. Prior to then, his professional career was with large law firms. Chuck has represented manufacturing and distribution businesses, retail and service companies, and firms specializing in real estate development, aviation, insurance, motion picture feature films and music.
Checkett & Pauly has been listed as "preeminent attorneys" in the area of corporate law by Martindale Hubbell. Kevin Checkett and Charles Pauly are each AV rated,* the highest designation under Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system.
Mariann Morgan began her practice with Checkett & Pauly, P.C., in 1999 after having practiced in the state of North Carolina and Georgia. She represents both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy.
